Salvador, Saskatchewan, Cemetery
The cemetery lies on the northeast corner of a tiny village, on sloping land that undulates gently off to the north. Grain fields stretch off into the distance, marked by farm buildings and occasional stands of trees. A truck raised clouds of dust as it headed north on the grid road, disappearing into the horizon. Quiet settled over the cemetery, giving us pause to reflect on the lives of those buried in this small, simple, unadorned, prairie resting place.
