5 Easy Steps To Home Brewing

Who says that getting into home brewing is difficult? It's not and when you are properly guided with the right and easy to understand steps, then having your first brew could be yours in a few days. For you guidance, here are five (5) easy steps that you can check out and follow if you are interested in taking home brewing as a business or just a hobby.

• It all starts with selecting the equipment. Home brewing will not be successful if you are not armed with the right equipments. Now don't be distracted by the costs associated with buying these equipments; for less than $100 you can have your own basic set of equipments. Some of the major equipments to take note include the brewing bin, the air lock and the stopper, bottles, thermometer and a few more equipments and household items.

• Securing a beer kit. The presence of the beer kit will make life easier for the person who is trying home brewing for the first time. When you say beer kit this will traditionally include the malt concentrate and the yeast. This will also include some guidelines on how to use ingredients for fermentation in order to draft the brew. Some of the possible ingredients that may be recommended include the brewing sugar, rice syrup and the liquid malt syrup.

• Preparing the beer. Cooking the beer starts by sanitizing and cleaning the equipments needed in the process. Once the equipments are sanitized, then prepare two quarts of water and bring it to around 160 degrees F and remove water from the heat. If done, add up the contents of the beer kit and cook according to the set directions. By the kit, you will learn that it's best to allow the ingredients to get dissolve first before putting on the lid. After doing this, you need to pour the contents to the cold water present in the fermenter. Again, mix well and allow the fermentation to happen in the recommended temperature.

• Monitoring the fermenting process. This is the process of turning the malt into beer. The initial stage of fermenting the beer can go on for days and the key here at this step is the proper monitoring of the temperature. So how are you to know that the beer is ready for bottling? Now there are two ways on how to tell if it's ready for packaging. One is to check the bubbles that come out of the lock; if the bubbles pop no more than one per minute then it's ready. Another test is by checking the yeast. If it's on the bottom, then it's prime up for bottling.

• The last step is the bottling and the priming part. In priming, the sugar will be mixed with beer to facilitate fermentation. Now transfer the beer into the priming bucket, add sugar and mix. After this, then the beer is ready to be transferred to the bottle.

With a step-by-step guide, home brewing can be easy and enjoyable. Use the guide as a supplement to other guides available in the market.

Feng Shui and Why has the Practice Persisted

A belief, a system or a dogma that has existed, survived and is still in popular use is worth taking a second look. To dismiss them would simply be idiotic as many already did and have proven nothing aside from making a belief that they do not cotton into only to be advertised the more and inadvertently help its propagation. Home Brewing

Homebrewing is the brewing of beer, wine, sake, mead, cider, perry and other beverages through fermentation on a small scale as a hobby for personal consumption, free distribution at social gatherings, amateur brewing competitions or other non-commercial reasons. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages can be made at home.

Alcohol has been brewed domestically throughout its 7,000-year history beginning in Mesopotamia (modern Iraq), Egypt and China. Knowledge of brewing beer and wine was passed on from the Egyptians to the Greeks and then to the Romans.

Mass production of brewed beverages began in the 18th century with the Industrial Revolution. Innovations, like thermometers and hydrometers, allowed increases in efficiency. French microbiologist Louis Pasteur explained the role of yeast in beer fermentation in 1857, allowing brewers to develop strains of yeast with desirable properties (conversion efficiency, ability to handle higher alcohol content).
